...Deck The Halls!

Ho Ho Ho!

Christmas time is absolutely one of my favorite times of the year! I become such a kid again decorating the tree and my house and even baking cookies for Santa! Modani Contemporary Furniture Company has great pieces to decorate the house with and of course...the first thought I had was HOLIDAY TIME! Every year being the trust Southern gal I am, I over decorate (duh) and invite my friends over on Christmas Eve for a Holiday Party! We play games, chat, indulge in food and overindulge in wine...it's such a great time!

On Modani's website, I found some super cool pieces of furniture I could utilize in the decorating of my new home! First things first...that wallpaper! Exposed Brick is one of my favorite things in life and it's the perfect backdrop for the equally cool white, minalist sofa and gray shaggy rug! Like an unforgettable outfit, no room is complete without accessories! The walnut flat coffee table and white sleek end table are SO chic! The most understated pieces often make the loudest noise! The final touches in the room include the floor lamp to add a little mood lighting, my absolute favorite LOVE pillows, and of course the most peaceful Serenity statue on the table! Make sure you make your way over to Modani's website ASAP to pick up all these items to spruce up every room in your house! Where do you like to do your furniture shopping? Do you do anything special during the holidays?! Let me know in the comments below! XOXO.

...& Let the Holiday Fun Commence!

It's Holiday Time!!

By now you've had your Turkey Day, shopped Black Friday AND Cyber Monday, and maybe even strung a few lights around the house! Holiday Time for me is a different story...don't get me wrong, I enjoyed my Disney Thanksgiving (pictures coming soon) and definitely got some good deals during the biggest shopping weekend of the year, but I've also been working my butt off. A very dear friend of mine, Christine, asked me to style her jewelry line's Holiday photo shoot. Below I have included some Behind the Scene teasers, all taken at Hotel Maison de Ville located in the French Quarter.

Culture Shock is a New Orleans based jewelry company that fully embraces ALL cultures. They personally design all their jewelry so each piece tells an amazing story of a different culture. You can learn more about Culture Shock & shop their merchandise HERE! Make sure you mosey on over to their page, you'll find cool jewelry & get a little history lesson. SCORE!

Hey Hey Hey lovely folks!

Life has been such a crazy whirlwind lately! I literally have not had a chance to sit down and catch my breath from all the craziness that is happening these days. Anyhoo, it's been about 2 weeks since my last post and so much has happen since. Instead of a normal outfit post, I'm covering all the events I've attended these past few weeks and what I wore to each one.

Only picture I have of myself from this night!

If you're ever out and about in the New Orleans area and see me, be sure to say HI! ;)

...5 Trends for Fall to try NOW!

Hi Lovely Ladies!

As most of you know, I'm a born and raised native New Orleanian! Growing up a Southern Belle is pretty much the greatest way to live! Charm School, Dance Classes, Cheerleading lessons, Purity Classes...you name it, southern girls do it! And somehow we manage to do it all in extreme heat and humidity.

Quite possibly one of the worst things about living in NOLA is the crazy, unpredictable weather. This week alone, I've been able to wear a fur vest one day and jean shorts the next. As READY as I am for fall...it's just not here yet :(....I hate admitting that out loud, btw!

Today I want to focus on 5 Fall Trends that you can try NOW during this in-between weather! One night when shopping for new fall accessories for this post I discovered Raise Marketplace. This really cool site that offers discounted gift cards to buy from my favorite retailers such as Nasty Gal, Forever 21, H&M, and pretty much any place you can think of. You can even SELL giftcards on there to get rid of the ones you don't want! Look below to see the great pieces I pulled for my top 5 Trends for fall:

Fall Trends

Trend 1: Menswear trends are literally ALL THE RAGE this fall. I have this cute sweater vest and over-sized sweater vest, that I wear all the time. They are very much a fall trend, but you definitely won't have you sweating in the heat! Both items can be found at Nasty Gal

Trend 2: Dark colored nails are the easiest way to showcase fall trends in hotter states! According to The Zoe Report, dark blue is the chicest fall color. Here are 2 great options...easily found at your nearest Wal-Greens.

Trend 3: Midi Skirts are amazing! They showcase the smallest part of your leg and they normally have a high-waist so they also showcase the smallest part of your waist. That's a total win in my book! These 2 options are both found at Forever 21...and psst....the accordion pleated midi has been featured in many of our favorite style mags ;)!

Trend 4: Cold weather accessories are also a great way to bring a little Fall into your life! We like this black felt hat and even this great corduroy drawstring bag! The hat is from Warehouse and the bag can be found at H&M.

Trend 5: Next to wearing fall nails, another super easy way to get ready for fall is the shoes! I've already started wearing booties and textured shoes to get into the fall-time groove! The furry sneaker and pointy toe flat pictured are by Vince and the bootie are by everyone's favorite brand, Sam Edelman

What are your favorite fall trends?!
