...Lenny and Eva

Hi!!

As you guys know, I'm always on the search for latest in fashion jewelry and the best places to look are always little boutiques! I found my latest charm bracelet in a small specialty shoppe, The Basketry in Luling, LA. Luling is located on the West Bank in the River Parishes of Louisiana. (They are about 45 minutes away from NOLA). My mom teaches in Luling so one day when I went to visit her at work, I had to stop in The Basketry for a little shopping! The Basketry sells cute little knick knacks for around the house, as well as wonderful jewelry lines such as Pandora, Lenny and Eva, and Kameleon!

After browsing for a while, I was drawn to the cutest little section of charm bracelets and leather bracelet wraps by Lenny and Eva. The bracelets reminded me of the ever famous Power Beads I loved as a child! I picked out a pretty pinky-kind of Opal color (I LOVE OPAL, btw). Then it was time to choose my charms. I read all the different "Mojos" the charms offered until I finally settled on a "Believer Mojo" complete with some crosses, a fleur de lis, an angel, and the cutest little beads. After putting my bracelet together and chatting with a few of the Basketry's lovely associates, I left with one of the best purchases I've made in a long time. 2 days later...and I'm STILL rocking my Lenny and Eva bracelet. I doubt I'll be taking this one off for a while!!

Doesn't this remind you of Power Beads?

...NOLAMetals

Hey lovers!

This past Saturday night, I went to uptown NOLA for a little stroll on Magazine street! A champagne stroll that is! Magazine street, for those of you who don't know, is a famous NOLA street that's littered with amazing, unique boutiques and specialty shops. It's always been one of my favorite places to go, even as a little girl! On Saturday night, they hosted a "Champagne Stroll", where different stores set up tents outside their shops and handed out complimentary champagne and wine to the shoppers! Strolling up and down with my parents, we ran across a little booth in front of Joey K's Restaurant. We stopped to get a fill of Merlot, when I noticed the booth had some rather interesting jewelry. NOLAMetals by Misty Taylor is hand crafted unique jewelry with a southern twist! Everything is created with silver, cooper, and gold so if you're super sensitive like me, no worries...you won't break out! Below are some pictures of the necklace I purchased from Mitsy as well as a link to her Etsy shop so you too can purchase one of these conversation starters! ;)

How cute is clasp being in the front instead of the back like normal?!

Amazing detail in the piece of copper on such dainty chain!

This is one way I wore my NOLAMetals piece.
I haven't taken it off since Saturday Night! I'm obsessed!

...a new direction

Dear Readers,

It has been quite some time since my last post, I've been going through sort of a mid-mid life crisis. I'm only 22, but I've been given the difficult task of figuring out what I want to do with the rest of my life! After-all  I'll be a college graduate in 7 months! Yikes! The more I freak out about post graduate life, the more I realize that I shouldn't freak out. 22 is still very young and I still have my whole life to figure it out. I finally understand what Taylor Swift was talking about in her song "22". It's a magical age, but also a pretty scary one.

Thinking about life, made me think about this blog.

When I first started it, I wanted it to be something huge, but i realized that in order to be huge...you also have to be different. I want to take this blog in a new direction, more of a concentration if you will. My passion is and always has been jewelry. I have always prided myself on being able to add that one interesting piece of jewelry to an outfit to complete a look. I believe we all have special God-given talents and once we figure out what it is, we should share it with the world.

I want to share my love and my knowledge of jewelry with the world! I can't wait to start this new journey and I hope to gain your respect as your latest jewelry "go-to gal".

Love and Kisses,
Courtney J
