...Florals for Fall?! Groundbreaking?!

Happy Fall Ya'll!

Top: OLD, (Similar Linked)
Skirt: WISH from VITA Boutique
Shoes: Steve Madden

We're all super familiar with the famous quote from "The Devil Wears Prada" when Miranda Preistly declares florals for spring "groundbreaking" with literally the most bored expression one could muster. Well, while I must agree with Miranda...I will say Floral for Fall is definitely a little more groundbreaking than Floral for Spring.

Sunnies: Armani Exchange
Chokers: Forever 21 (First one) (Second one)
Earrings: Em's Boutique

When I think fall I picture rich fabrics, bold colors, and of course pumpkin spice lattes. (Call me basic, I don't care!) Floral doesn't seem to have enough character for fall, almost like it's too sweet. Well honey, these new florals are anything but! I'm talking warm colors and all the pumpkin spice vibes! I've been loving this trend especially because fall tends to reach Louisiana a little late...like everything else in the world, lol.

Are you a fan of fall florals?!

...Friday, is that you?!

Ahhh, Friday...

The day we so often look forward to because it means happiness is only one night's sleep away. I have most Fridays off and I like to spend them in the most relaxing way possible...after all, I will need my energy for my wild wild west weekends!

Dress: BooHoo
Booties: Steve Madden (old, newer version linked)
Wallet/Clutch: Kate Spade
Choker: Old, Similar Linked
Sunnies: Ray Ban
Earrings: Dillard's
Watch: Michael Kors
Polish: Essie's Mint Candy Apple, Lippie: Wet N Wild's Mochalicious
So what do you wear on your Casual Fridays? Denim like most? Check out this cute little denim dress that we shot MONTHS ago (and I'm just getting it up to y'all because I'm always tardy to the party. Thank God this dress is still availible at BooHoo and it's less than $25 now! You can thank me later.

I paired this hot little number with these Steve Madden open toe, lace up booties because, I'm BEYOND ready for fall. It's been a rainy, hot summer here in New Orleans and I can't wait for cooler days and cozier clothes.

Have you started planning your fall wardrobe yet?!
(Because it's literally all I do these days, lol)

...Fall Festival?! No Probs Bob (Pt 1)

Well Hello There!

I'm not quite sure how it's done in the rest of the world, but in New Orleans? We like to PARTAY! I know most festivals are over by this point, but the fall festival season in NOLA is just revving up. I mean, Seafood Fest, VOODOO Fest, and the Fried Chicken Fest are literally just around the corner.

Dress: Free People (via Shop Bop)
Kimono: Flynn Skye
Necklace: Forever 21(super old!!, I'm sorry I can't even find anything similar)
Sunnies: Aldo Shoes (old, similar linked), Hat: Forever 21

Backpack: DSW Shoes
Dressing for a festival in the spring is totes easy: shorts, crops, booties, fun jewelry and you're done! However, sometimes dressing for a festival in the fall can be a little bit more difficult. I partnered up with a old friend of mine (Heyy Dee!) to shoot some a fun look for fall festival season.

Converse Chuck Taylors: JC Penney

I'm so obsessed with this slinky black maxi I got from ShopBop! It's long enough to keep you warm during cooler nights, but the high slit on the side still allows a little air to flow through there. I paired it with a super cool necklace scarf from Forever 21, a kimono, and of course my favorite festival shoe, low-top Converse Chuck Taylors.

What do you plan on wearing to a fall festival?

...Welcome to #TrendTuesdaywithFF

Good Morning Ladies and Gents!

Today we're going to try something new, that literally just popped in my mind when I woke up at like 7:30 this morning and have been wired on coffee since then. I wanted a section to cover trends that are going on in the world these days and thus #TrendTuesdaywithFF was born.

Today's trends? Let's take a look at these super stylish Olympic athletes.

Like most Americans for the past 2 weeks, I've been tuning in every night to watch the USA dominate in most of the Olympic Games (I see you Simone Biles & Simone Manuel)! However, I don't only watch the games, I love seeing the lady athletes look so strong, so powerful and so feminine at the same time with a hint of glitter eyeliner or extravagant nails while they're killing it in their respective sport. Let's take at some of the best beauty and fashion moments I've spotted so far:

USA's Gabby Douglas is gorgeous in a fierce matte lip.
Brazil's Jaqueline Endres' in a high flying Sectioned Pony.
USA's Laurie Hernandez's strong brow and clean cat eye.
USA's Simone Manuel with tears of joy & a squoval red, white, and blue manicure.
USA's Alyson Felix with super tidy, super cute micro braids.
USA's Aly Raisman's to die for top-knot.
Puerto Rico's Mónica Puig's french braid is perfection.

Other than the Gold Medal, obvi, what's been your favorite Olympic Style?!

...Swim Week?! Y'all know I love a bathing suit!!

Aloha! Or should I say, Hola?!

Mid-July, I took my booty on down to Miami for Swim Week 2016 and let's just say their language of choice down there is definitely Spanish! Language barrier aside, I literally had the time of my life and met so many great people.

I've been super inspired ever since. In addition to running this blog (yaknow, in my spare time), I am a stylist/social media gal the rest of the time. I work for New Orleans Fashion Week as a production assistant, but I wanted to expand this impressive (ha!) resume of mine and take my talents down to South Beach.

Art found in the Perez Art Museum Miami

Upon arrival, I checked with TAA PR (the company I was working under) and started off with minimal tasks: checking PRESS in, seating guests, etc. It wasn't until the second day of me being there that I received a little more responsibility. I was asked to work different shows checking in special guests. I'm talking like big time bloggers, to CEOs to brands we all know and love. I loved networking and people watching all the different styles and I'd like to say I left with some new knowledge and new friends.

Enough of my jibber-jabber, check out my short clip from Miami Swim Week's FUNKSHION TENT!

Happy Monday, y'all and don't forget it's never to late to start following your dreams!

...Did someone say Mardi Gras?!

Hey ya'll!

As most of you probably know, it's MARDI GRAS time...aka THE BEST TIME EVER, IN LIFE. New Orleans is currently kicked in high gear with parties, costumes, king cake and more! What most of you may not know is that sometimes, Mardi Gras weather isn't the best. It's often cold, rainy, and just plain icky. Bad weather tends to effect your mood so with a little help from my friends over at Bloom Nation, we're going to show you how to brighten your space during winter months!

BloomNation is a a company that supports local communities by partnering with independent florists and showcasing their handcrafted arrangements on their websites! My photographer, Randy and I put together a cute little video on how to decorate and host a Mardi Gras party! (Because doesn't Mardi Gras brighten everyone's mood?!) This can be especially useful for those who may not live in the area, but adore the culture...because who wouldn't?!

Without further ado, please check out my very first YouTube video and laissez les bons temps rouler!

...Walking In a Rose Gold Wonderland

Happy February Lovelies!

Sweater: ASOS
Jeans: Express
Mules: Missguided
Earrings: LOFT, Necklace: New York & Company (similar linked), Bracelet: Target (similar linked)
Lippie: Colour Pop's StingRae

So if you're not from the South you may not realize this, but it gets HOT here. Especially in New Orleans...so hot that sometimes, Winter just completely skips us over! While the rest of the country was roasting chestnuts by the open fire, we were literally still in bathing suits hanging out by the pool. This look would have been a million times cooler had it actually been cold outside while I was wearing this cream and white combo, but of course it was like 78 degrees, haha. Side note: I don't think I've pulled out my coat this entire winter season!

Anyhoo, I really wanted to showcase the beauty of my new rose gold mules from Misguided and I thought the best possible way to showcase them was a pretty, tonal outfit. Off the shoulder, oversized cream sweater? Check. White, Lived In, Ripped Jeans? Check. Adorable Rose Gold Mules? Triple Check. Looks like we've got ourselves an outfit; one we can totally take into Spring.

...New Year, Same Me??

Happy New Year's folks!

If you're anything like me, you always make grand new years resolutions and colorful boards promising yourself to work out more and brunch less...

White Button-Down: Banana Republic
Plaid Shirt: Apricot Lane Baton Rouge (similar linked)
Vegan Leather Mini Skirt: H&M
Bag: Victoria's Secret (similar linked)
Sunnies: Haus 131
Stud Earrings: Banana Republic

However, because mercury was in retrograde, I've been finding it a little hard to commit to the "new me". For example: The night before I shot pictures of this outfit, I went to dinner with my brother and god-sister. Long story short, it was bottomless wine night which is even more dangerous than bottomless mimosas. The next morning, I woke up on the sofa in my outfit from the night before running late for my shoot. & BOOM: the Hangover Look was born. Leather Skirt, Longline Top, Plaid, and Big Sunglasses.

The outfit came out super cute (and so did the pictures)...but I then realized, this was old Courtney...not Courtney 2.0 and definitely not the Courtney that made such a colorful new year's board promising to be timely and responsible. It's okay though...maybe just maybe I like hot-mess Courtney. I have been keeping my promise of working out more, but I just don't see myself giving up brunch anytime soon!
