...a very merchandising christmas

I worked ALL day today AND I'm feeling a little under the weather today, sooo that means no outfit post for the day. Yesterday I promised to complete my posts in a more timely manner so that means I had to think a little bit harder about what to talk about!

This is picture of some merchandising I did at work today. We put lots of bright pastels and fun prints on display for the Holiday Season. Make sure you stop by the BCBG in your area for some funky scarves!

This window was decorated for a church's Christmas play. They wanted a "Macy's" style window for one scene and called on the students of the Fashion Merchandising student at UL for help! We used lots of fake snow and shiny, glittery items to make the window as festive as possible. The Christmas tree was already up when we got there...isn't it huge?!

Visual Merchandising is one of my favorite aspects of my major and I can't wait to see how I will be able to use my merchandising skills in the future!

...a very tardy post...and life

One thing you'll learn about me is that I often find myself having trouble doing things on time. It feels like no matter how early I start something, I always finish 5 minutes too late...just like this blog post. I took these pictures of my little ensemble almost a week ago and I'm JUST posting now. I'd like to blame my tardiness on all my Thanksgiving fun, but that's not a real excuse now is it? Just know, my dear readers, that I am going to complete my future blog posts in a timely manner (even if the rest of my life is still running 5 minutes late, hehe).

Enough of that! On to the good stuff!!

How pretty are those leaves?!

Reading a Macy's magazine to give a little feedback later!

Combat Boots: Charlotte Russe (Similar)

I put my lovely brother to work and made him take pictures of me in front of a leaf changing tree in front our parent's home. I found this yellow, flowy geometrically printed shirt in my overflowing closet that I forgot I had! Paired with grey leggings and belted, I threw on my combat boots and was ready for the day!

My last minute accessory was my brown faux-fur collar thrown around my neck for a little fun!

This is my brother. This is his "I'm done taking pictures of and with you!" face.

As a reward for putting up with me all day, I got us some yummy wine and cheese to enjoy later :).

P.S. A perk of being a fashion student are the cool guest speakers that come to give speeches to our classes, a bigger perk are the even cooler gifts they bring! The magazine I'm reading in the photos is an exclusive Macy's magazine that hasn't even been released to the public yet! Cool, eh?

...a stylist in the making

Dress: BCBGMaxAzria Vest: BCBGMazAzria
While working towards my B.S. in Fashion Merchandising at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, I also work part-time at the BCBGMaxAzria partner shop in the Mall of Acadiana. BCBG has always been one of my favorite brands and it fulfills me to style clothes I am personally SO passionate about!! Today's little mini shoot was taken during some down time at work today. Our dress code is pretty strict, so getting ready in the morning normally takes a little thought, a little creativity, and just a little luck. ;).

Necklace: Aldo Shoes

Arm candy is more delectable with pretty, polished nails!
Today I chose to wear a long sleeve, fitted navy blue hi-lo dress with the cutest thumb-hole detail cut out at the sleeve cuff (I adore unexpected little surprise details like these)! I know hi-lows are more of a summer look, but here in Louisiana, I can still get away with it! I topped the dress with my grey faux suede vest and a very colorful, very chunky statement necklace!
My shoe choice of the day were plain black pumps with a chunky heel. Perfect work shoes because they're actually pretty comfortable and perfect fall shoes because the heels are chunky! However...no matter how comfty my heels are, I always bring back up flats! My flats are pictured below with my heels!
Spiked Flats: Vince Camuto
Heels: Giani Bini
